The average price of a Lake Murray access home (2861 s.f.) is $355,632 (median price $354,950). Keep in mind that these comparatives prices are for homes currently for sale of all age ranges and from all around Lake Murray including Richland, Lexington, Newberry and Saluda counties.

LAKE MURRAY is the water playground of 
central South Carolina. Lake Murray is approximately 30 minutes from downtown Columbia. Other nearby cities and towns include: Lexington, Irmo, Chapin, Prosperity and Newberry. The Lake Murray adventure means boating, sailing, canoeing, fishing, skiing, swimming, camping and just plain fun at one of the South’s most scenic playgrounds.
LAKE MURRAY was constructed between 1927 and 1930. The Dreher Shoals Dam formed a 48,000 acre lake in the heart of South Carolina and only a short drive from downtown Columbia. The lake covers an area of 78 square miles with 649 miles of shoreline. The waters of the Saluda River that feed Lake Murray supply energy to the Saluda Hydroelectric Plant turbines and cooling water to the McMeekin Steam Generating Plant. When completed, Lake Murray was the largest power reservoir and Dreher Shoals Dam the largest earthen dam in the world.
Lake Murray has had a number of big-time bass fishing tournaments. So, the fishing is great at Lake Murray. Lake Murray is a clean lake (the City of Columbia has a drinking water plant on the lake) and the lake is popular for swimming, skiing and boating.

Living in Columbia, South Carolina is a lot like living in any home town, with local sports being a big part of the lifestyle. Families look for T-Ball, Little League, soccer and of course, junior high and high school sports. What is sport organizations are in Columbia, South Carolina? Are their sport opportunities for adults? Is there a parks and recreation department in Columbia?
